P53 double mutant with XRCC4?

I think that your answer seems to be correct. That is, with the XRCC4-/XRCC4 only, the intact p53 induces apoptosis, but if there is a double mutation with a p53-/p53- the apoptosis does not take place allowing further development into a sickly adult without the protection of p53.
