Why is this concert/music dvd not working?

Ok, so on my dad's dvd player I have noticed that it does not like to play concert/music dvds very easily. When I popped in a dvd of concert footage, the video is very jerky, meaning it skips every second so you can abrely tell what is happening, plus the audio does not come through on it. On a dvd I previously had that had the same problem I fixed it by going to an audio options on the dvd's main menu and changed it either from dolby digital to pcm or vice versa, however there is no placed to change the audio type on this dvd, just fyi, the dvd not working is called AC/DC plug me in and I don't know if this will help, but my dad's DVD player is pretty old.
