Which car is better? 2009 Honda Civic (coupe) or 2009 Scion Tc?

I currently have a 2003 chevrolet cavalier. Recently a deer ran in front of my car while i was driving. So now im in need of a new and improved car. I've test driven both the honda coupe and the tc but I couldn't differentiate between the two. Im going off to college 5 hours away from home and i need a dependable car that will not have any troubles.... Help please!!!
