Employment, crime dilemma?

First off: A few months ago I was living in a fraternity house. Somebody wrote down a friends debit card number and ordered 77 dollars worth of food on it. Well that person used my name for it to be delivered to. A cop came and talked to me and asked me questions and basically said: If charges are going to be pressed, a warrant will be out for your arrest. I never admitted to it, or wrote down a confession or anything. I never heard anything about it after that day. Later, my room mate wrote me a check when he was really, really drunk. It was for 200 dollars. So I cashed it the next day. Soon after, he noticed that I cashed a check of his, and he doesn't remember writing it. So we got into it and I moved out. He called the police. I never got questioned or anything, but 6 months later, a detective calls me and says that he's submitting a warrant. I just got a job interview and hired, but they have to do a background check. Can they submit warrants without confessions? What do I do???
